The Ball Penetration Apparatus (Kelly Ball) determines the depth of penetration of metal weight into plastic concrete. The apparatus consists of a 30 lb cylinder with a hemispherical bottom and handle. The stirrup or frame, guides the handle and acts as a reference for measuring the depth of penetration. The handle features graduations in quarter inch increments on one side and half centimetre increments on the other side.
